On the 7th of October 2002 the NeLoC project had a rare chance to present its activities and objectives for invited Polish guests in a seminar in Gdansk. Project's Polish Country co-ordinator Dr. Ludwik Kondratowicz from the Maritime Institute hosted the event in his institute.
There were over twenty invitees participating in the seminar from different ministries, port authorities, research institutes, local and regional authorities, and from the Committee of European Integration. The guests were warmly welcomed to Gdansk by Mr. Jan J. Stoppa, Deputy Mayor of the City. In addition to the presentations held about NeLoC the participants had a chance to hear also Polish speakers tell about their expectations for such an large international co-operation project, about their own research projects and also about the European integration process concerning the Polish maritime sector.
The timing of the seminar was excellent as just a few days before it took place NeLoC's Polish and Lithuanian partners had received the long-expected good news concerning the approval of their co-financing for the Joint NeLoC project.
