Ministry of Transport and Communications

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland is a governmental organisation responsible for transport systems and networks as well as passenger and goods transport. In the communication sector, the responsibilities include regulatory activities and issues related to communications networks, media, electronic commerce and the development of the information society.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications promotes national well-being and efficient operation of society by guaranteeing citizens and industry access to safe and reasonably priced high-quality transport and telecommunications connections. The Ministry also furthers the competitiveness of the transport and the telecommunications industries. Seven government departments and agencies operate within the Ministry's administrative jurisdiction.
