Poland
Institute of Logistics and
Warehousing
The Institute of Logistics
and Warehousing already has nearly 35 years' experience in logistics.
It was founded in 1967 as the Centre of Warehouse Management and
from 1978 to 1994 acted as the Institute of Warehouse Management.
The change of the name to the Institute of Logistics and Warehousing
underlined new areas of research and implementation. The Institute
of Logistics and Warehousing is a state-owned research unit under
the supervision of the Polish Ministry of Economy and it currently
employs 90 people. It is the leading Polish supplier of up-to-date
modern solutions supporting both material and information flow management.
Over the thirty-five-year history
of the Institute's operations, the fields of research have undergone
constant modification, adjusting to the changing economic conditions
in the country and applying rapidly developing technologies particularly
in the field of IT. This has reflected in R&D activities which create
a methodological base for operations targeted at increasing the
efficiency of companies and the national economy in the area of
logistics.
The Institute is widely acknowledged
as the centre of Poland's competence in logistics. It is devoted
to developing and collecting knowledge and experience as well as
implementing them in practical terms in the economy. The range of
its interests covers all sectors of the economy at various organisational
levels. The Institute implements advanced logistics solutions in
key business processes, which enable a measurably improved efficiency
of companies and entire supply chains, especially in small and medium-sized
enterprises.
